My main goal for making this post is to reclaim the #1 image in Google’s search results for “Jukebox the Ghost”. At the very bottom of this post is a screengrab of what the results used to be. The top result was my image of Jesse wearing a Michael Meyer’s mask at a HalloQueen show (and the third image was mine as well) but now the results have changed.
But my secondary purpose is to share images from Jukebox the Ghost‘s (JtG) set at Radio City Music Hall (RC), one night of their run opening for Lawrence’s The Family Business Tour. I’ve been a fan of JtG since 2009 when they played a show in Stamford hosted by Chris Bro. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to see the band close to 20 times and to have gotten to know them. Tommy Siegel‘s published a few cartoon books (looking forward to the third later this year). Ben Thornewill is working on a musical about ferrets (and raising a kid). And Jesse Kristin has at least one other musical project and recently got married.
When I saw JtG were playing RC, I reached out to their manager Seth of This Fiction and was kindly placed on the list to photograph their set. Upon check in, I received an all access badge — a super exciting opportunity to photograph the group from the stage of Radio City. I’ve been on stage with the band at Bowery (and maybe other venues) but it was extremely cool do so at the legendary venue. Below are some photos from on, off and back stage.
Thanks Jukebox the Ghost for giving me many, many opportunties to work with you and for continuing to put out awesome tunes. Hope to see you again soon. I’ll be jealous of anyone who catches their upcoming three albums, three nights shows on the west coast. Maybe I should try to make it out to some?
