Olivia Rodrigo‘s massive rise over the past year or so led to her leap-frogging over small venues and going to theaters on her first ever tour. And it was no surprise her two nights New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, a 6,000 capacity venue, sold-out incredibly quickly. I imagine the ‘Sour’ Tour performance was likely the first concert many of the young fans had ever been to (and I think only the third time I’ve photographed a show at Radio City).
Akemi Nakamura posted a great review of the show (in Japanese) over at Rockin’On and kindly included some of my pics. But I’m sharing some more soundboard images from the April 27th 2022 show (including opener Holly Humberstone, who I wanted to see before/more of) below. I was only there for three songs (the last of which was “driver’s license”) and it was a challenge to shoot from that distance but the venue had a sloped floor which fortunatley prevented too many heads from blocking the shot.
